Hi there I ha e got this on several machines from time to time and could never figure it out.
modtly 98 machines when installing a kingston kne100tx 10 /100 card...

tha card will install fine 98 will see it and load a driver.. and reboot....
then when i go into network and try to change tcp/ip binding for the card to reflect the way we setup the modem ( DHCP )
some times it will not prompt for the restart ans there fore the changes that I have made do not stick...
if I give it the three finger salute then i usually get a msgrv32 not responding error....
i have tried to remove everything from network and reboot and do it over with no avial.... have tried going int add remove programs and dump communications with no luck either...... i run into this quite frequently and so far my best solution is to format and reinstall.....surely there has to be a better way around this than that.... i just want my nic to talk to the modem with out pulling teeth....
thanks in advance

I've had success in troubleshooting this type of problem by removing and re-installing DUN and TCP/IP according to TechNet'S Q181599 (http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q181/5/99.ASP).

Hope this helps.
