I am an administrator looking into making our school into a wireless lan. Using 802.11b as the standard what drawbacks are there? Specificaly people who are using this.....how does transfer of movies and a lot of internet traffic perform over the 11mb connection? WHat kind of security problems are there? Any other feedback would be great...even links to sites with articles on this subject. Thank you all.

I use a wireless lan in my home, so your issues will be different.
You should probably expect to get about 4-5Mb. I stream mp3's with no problems. Movies dont do so well. A switch instead of a hub may help.
Security is the biggest drawback. Make sure you use the encryption. Even then I understand that there is program that will break the encryption in less than a half hour.
