OK, I am using a D-Link router (d-link 401) on a small network of 2-4 computers connected to a cable modem. I am having trouble downloading files from various websites. Some sites, I can download no problem, some sites such as HP or Roxio, time out and won't allow me to download. I have narrowed the issue down to the firewall in the router, specifically the Access Control. I have all the basic ports allowed for my range of computers, (including port 80, 110, 23, 443, ect..). I am able to download files from those sites with Access Control turned off, but not with it turned on, and I am unsure as to why. Maybe I am missing a port, or maybe it's a issue with the latest firmware. Any ideas?

I am running the latest firmware, and have tried a power cycle, software reboot, software reset, hardware reset, ect all with no avail. This is an issue that is occuring on all computers, on the network, all of which are running different operating systems. This is also a issue wich occured rather recently, although I have been running the firmware for several months now, and have downloaded files from these sites previous to the issue occuring.

The only thing I can come up with is that you may not have opened both ports that are required for FTP. I usually open 20-23, just to make sure I get Telnet and FTP. Try that setting if you haven't already.

I'll double check that when I got home, and let you know. (That is if Excite dosn't cut my friggen service!) I think they are open though.
