Sometimes when I browse the network you can't anything. (It only last for a while). You get that error message about can't Browse bla bla. But I am connected because I can write the name of the computer and get there (\\example) I also can ping the server. MY question is why does this happen to me and how can I fix this??

what is happeneing is the computer that is the windows browse master hasnt updated you yet. Windows sets browsing as one of the lowest priorities so if there is a lot of network trafic it can take a few minutes for it to update all the sets. Even if it is only a couple sets it may still take a few minutes. Also MAKE SURE when you boot machines that you are allways hitting ok to log into the network or you will never see anything. I cant remember the exact amount of time but on a NTlan but MS says it may take up to 51 or 53 minutes for a full lan to populate under network neighborhood. So if you can ping or do you unc\\ and the name then your conectivity is fine. What you are dealing with if there is only two pcs is they are first having to negotiate who is going to be the browse master. X

Also, if you,ve got win 95 machines on your network, make sure that their browse master service is disabled, otherwise they can think they have to retain the list, and depending on your protocols (doesn't everyone run all of them?) this can cause the PDC to force an election. Just cuases a few more problems.
Then there's all that sub-net and router stuff if you are using these.

Once your machine is browsing the network, map drives to the resources you want. I think you can map printers as well.
This allows you to get where you want without having to wait for the whole browser election + browse list business.
