Hi
Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions on adsl routers. I'm intending to share out my broadband connection through the router to a minihub and then to my PCs (router doesn't have to have this built in).
refer it to have built in firewall!
any suggestions welcome :)

I recommend the cheap but good Linksys BEFSR41. It has a 4-port switch built-in, but if you don't need that you can get the BEFSR11. Depending on how many PCs you're connecting, I would just spend the little extra money and get the switch. Just keep the firmware updated and it should be completely trouble-free and easy to configure. As far as firewalls go, with this you can select which ports you want open and to which PC you want to forward ports, if needed. Also does a good job with DHCP if you don't want to worry about addressing.
No, I don't work for them. I just buy their stuff for all of my side work to keep it low-maintenance. Plus, I can always take it back to Best buy and get a new one if I need it.

I would recommend either the dlink <a href="http://www.dlink.com/products/broadband/di704/" target="_blank">704</a> or the <a href="http://www.dlink.com/products/broadband/di704p/" target="_blank">704p</a> The 704p is identical only that it has a print server built in which is really nice. I use the 704 and it has been excelent. It's also very easy to setup.

I would agree with Darkstar. We have a Linksys BEFSR41 router on our cable connection. Very simple to install and has performed flawlessly (until our cable modem decided to basically die a couple days ago :( )
Good luck!

The linksys is a solid router only in some setups you loose the ability to traceroute...
I would go with the SMC Barricade series or with a D-link or Netgear router.
If a good firewall is a must netgear actually offers a router with a more advanced firewall..

I'm using and have set up a lot of the LinkSys BEFSR41 Ver2 units and have not had any trouble with any of them. They are cheap and super easy to set up. They also have a NAT "almost" firewall built in that seems to be pretty effective. Since I've installed this router, my Norton firewall hasn't reported anything. :)

ditto...ZoneAlarm hasn't reported anything since I installed the router and hooked up 2 PC's to it 3 months ago...
