Ok, there are 3 computers on a 4-port hub. All computers are running Win XP pro. Now I gave my own workgroup name and all the computers have that name too. Now all I see are mine and another (2nd) computer, but the third one never shows up. When I go to that third computer and click on “view workgroup computers,” the third computer has the same workgroup name as the second computer and mine, but we don’t show up in it. Only the name of the third computer.
I can actually get into the third computer if I search for that computer using it’s IP. But transfer takes like 5 mins for a 5 MB file. Can anyone give me any suggestions? I’m new to XP and that damn network wizard doesn’t do anything.

So all computers have the same workgroup name, but only 2 show up. The third shows up in it’s own computer only. I had all three computers on the network back when they all had WIN 98 SE.
  <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="eek.gif" /> :D :( <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="frown.gif" />

Are you using static IP's or DHCP? Do all machines have all the same protocols installed?

Try pinging by IP and computer name to all three from all three and see if there is a difference in pings. You may also want to try changing cables.
