Hi everyone :)

At work we have just connected to ADSL. After being on dial-up for a long time it has been a welcome change :)

We have a server (WinXP Pro) with shared folders, internet and resources already set up. It connects to ADSL directly and 3 other computers (2 XP Pro, 1 Win98SE) receive the internet through ICS (Internet Connection Sharing).

Everything is working perfectly, but I wish to set up some sort of security to limit the amount of data coming through (we have a 3 Gig limit per month)

On one of the Win XP Pro workstations, I wish to limit the amount of data being retrieved off the internet to a set limit each day.

Is there some sort of quota management I can use to limit this machine from downloading too much?

Thanks for your help in advance,

John M

well JohNm

i don't think that you can limit traffic through ICS
i know that you can on this proxy server compatible with XP pro Allegro Surf
with this proxy you have the ability to deny access to all unauthorized internal hosts and for each user that you create you can also limit and monitor the amount of data that they can pull as well as block all banner ads (thereby conserving bandwith)

Oh...did I mention it is free for up to and including 3 users!

I'll give AllegroSurf a go asap :)

It looks great!
