Boot Disk Help

I am tring to do some imaging w/ Norton Ghost 2001 I get about halh way through the boot and it gives me an error 33 unable to bind I have tried everything I can think of --- I need help?

what Network Card are you using ?

have you by any chance enabled "plug and play OS" in the BIOS ? if so disable it ..


you get the bind error because your protcol cannot bind to the adapter and client.

Give me some more details - network andd system. I can e much more helpful then.

It is a realtek 1839 card going on a win pier to pier network i will check my BIOS thanks for your help

What is it with people and these Realtek chipsets? Anyway, it's peer-to-peer as in two classmates talking to each other, not pier-to-pier which is like conversations between two harbours or marinas.

you meant Realtek 8139, right ?

Tell you what, you give me the details of your network (what protocol you're using)
and I'll modify one of my existing network bootdisks to work on your network with the realtek card...

another option is giving you a long explaination on how to do it yourself..

your choice. but I still need to know with what protocol you're working - and if you're using TCP/IP what address range (Ip, subnet and default gateway..)

Well it is TCP/IP 192.168.1.2 through 192.1678.1.255, sub 255.255.255.0, gateway 192.168.1.1 if you have any other questions please let me know once I have this I can check it out and figure out how it is done Thanks

I did forget to ask if it's DHCP or static IP..

anyway if you have DHCP I already modified one of my bootdisks (Dos 6.22 + Lanman) to support your card..

please take a look at a:\net\system.ini - I commented what you need to change..

the file is

it will create a bootable floppy that should work on your system.

sorry it took so long- I kinda forgot all about this ..


here you go I made you a floppy with the specs you wanted..

take a look under a:\net at the *.ini files and at the autoexec.bat

I remaraked what you need to change yourself..
