Not sure what I overlooked? I have an NT Server running 4.0 SP6. I have about 20 dial up users running 98, NT, & 2000. All are OK. I have three users running 2000 that have a wierd problem. They enter their Name, password, and Domain. It dials fine and seems to connect after displaying the correct verbage(example: Dialing/Checking Password/Registering on network, etc. The two monitors icon appears in the lower right of the task bar, but only the front monitor (local transmit indicator) flashes. Searching for a specific CPU fails, but it keeps raising the amount of data transmitted, but the received data stays at about 282 bytes. Back icon monitor never flashes after login is successfull. Tried with several different accounts with the same results. Some of the accounts had Administrative rights. Not even sure what to look for as many other systems are working OK. Would appreciate any help. Thanks in advance.....

I would try connecting at a slower speed or swapping modems. When my Dad connects to a certain ISP with a certain modem he gets a similiar problem. Sometimes the connection is then lost and sometimes the connection continues but it's ungodly slow. When I dumped the winmodem he had and went back to a USR 33.6, it started working. I don't know if it had anything to do with the connection speed or the negotiating protocols between the modems but it worked.

Also, can you enable logging? On NT4 you could enable logging and you can see if the modems are continually re-negotiating their speed. His was. (I'm happy to admit that I haven't used a modem in about a year and a half.)
