I fdisked and recently reinstalled win98 and then updated to se. Now I get a network error on boot. It says The following error occured while loading protocol number 0. A network error has occured.
I've tried removing and adding tcp/ip a couple of times. if I put netbuie in, the error message changes to number 2? What gives????

Thanks Jay, I'd gotten to the search error before at MS, but hadn't come accross that article. It looks like what I need. Thanks again.

Usually you would get errors like that if you have a computer with the same name on the network. Just go to network properties, and choose a unique name.
If the name is unique, then try changing the IP address. :D
