Cheers silencio June 18th, 2002, 04:20 PM Take a look here: http://www.divx-digest.com/articles/index.html I haven't read up on this in the last few months but the last I knew they were a good resource. freddy June 18th, 2002, 06:00 PM DVD recorder NOT needed for VCD !!!!!!! two ways easy or proper. 1: dvdx (not divx) full package ,,quality ok 2 claddvd + tmpgenc +vfapi plugin and vcdeasy,,, run clad with frameserver , and then tmpgenc , i am running this as we speak ,,clad will run and run frameserving ,,will leave set of vob files + a ac3 and a d2v file ,,eg a film of 1h 22m will take 5.07g , then u run it thru tmpgenc ,,i use my own template and do a double run (2vbr) on high qlty, i also use the 3 sound encoders , lame tolame and ssrc , to do a 1h 22m film (at this qlty) takes 3h 38 m - if u did not do 2vbr u could halve this (the initial sound encoding takes 14 mins - inc in time). u will then be left with a file *.mpg 800m - 1.?m dependent on film , u use tmpgenc tool section to split the file to sub 800m then load vcdeasy , and that spits vcd/svcd onto blank disks. all the above progs can be d/loaded from www.vcdhelp.com from the tools section but be aware that in certain countries the copying of dvd is fround on by the law ,,if u have any queeries please ask the times stated are on a xp1600 /512ddr ,,but will work on any machine from 450+ FtF Raffaz June 19th, 2002, 11:17 AM Cheers for the info.
