Question: I just recieved a free CDRW drive a couple of days ago from a friend and the drive has NO label on it. In windows, it is identified as a "RWD RW2224". Now I already know that it is a 2x2x24 drive so that is what the 2224 stands for, and the drive itself will burn fine using Adaptec EZ cd creator but I just wanted to find out what company makes it so I can check for Firmware updates etc...anyone know what company RWD is? Any idea's are appreciated!

Look for the FCC sticker and use the FCC lookup on the Windrivers home page.

I found several references to JVC being the producer of RWD RW2224 drives, but I couldn't find any reference to the drive at JVC's website. JVC may have ultimately produced the drive for RWD, whoever they are... http://forums.windrivers.com/cgi-bin/forum/smilies/cwm15.gif
