I hope someone can help me with this..

Okay, here goes...

I am working on a Digital Prioris XL 6200, Pentium Pro 200mhz (yes, I can hear you laughing) running 64MB RAM with a 4GB hard drive. I have just finished installing NT 4.0 using the boot disks and the cd-rom. Upon attempting to use the cd-rom in Windows Explorer, I received the message “D:\ is not accessible. The parameter is incorrect.” After rebooting and re-entering Windows Explorer, I found the D:\ icon to be missing completely. During boot up, the line SCSI ID LUN NUMBER #:# 5:0 Toshiba CD-ROM XM-57-1TA appears. Doesn't the driver have to be there if I just used the cd-rom to install NT? How can I tell if the driver needs to be reinstalled or if maybe the drive letter is mapped wrong?

Thanks in advance for any help you can give.
:-)

NT wants a driver for the SCSI Controller. It probably didn't install it except during the original install.Find out what SCSI controller, get the newest from their website for NT. Then open the control panel and open the SCSI Controllers applet.Your IDE controllers will be listed. If your SCSI Controller isn't you'll have to go to drivers and add it. It may also be disabled and you'll have to re-enable it (if it disabled it for a reason, this may cause your machine not to boot again). It may exist as an unknown scsi controller and you'll still go to the drivers tab and update driver.
If the SCSI controller is listed ok you'll need to run disk administrator and 'assign a drive letter' to it.
By the way, NT really loves the pentium pro 200, no really! I have never seen a CPU that NT likes more at less than twice the speed.

What's the differance between 'twisted' and 'torqued' anyways?
