cdrom not accessable

When I click on my cdrom I get a message saying that it is not accessable. When I boot up, the computer does recognize it as being there. I have an Elite periphrals 2400.
How can I get this thing working!

Is Elite peripherals 2400 the name on the CD ROM?
When the system boots up what is the name of the CD ROM that the puter sees?
Have you run the install program or loaded the correct drivers?
You haven't told us what you have done so far.
