Hello All,
I'm new to the forum and would just like to say hi to everyone.
I have a quick question, I recently just installed win2k professional on several pc's at work (before I was dual booting them with win 98). After that I installed adaptec cd creator. When some of my users went to make copies the other day they said they got error messages saying to make sure that the cd rom drive controller was "scsi" compliant or to reinstall adaptec. I reinstalled the adaptec but still nothing. Do i need a higher version of adaptec or a new driver for the cd rom??? I usually don't focus on hardware issues. Thanks for help.

You need a version that supports the CD-RW units. Also, the latest SCSI drivers for W2K.

No. That hasn't anything to do with SP-1.
You need to find out which version of your burning software supports both your CD-RW units and runs under W2K.

So it has nothing to do with the cd-rom drivers, just the burning software?? If this is the case is there one you recommend? The cd-rw's that we are using are crx100e's from sony. You're help is greatly appreciated, wanna go live with 2k pro, but certain problems keeps arising. thanks again for the help.

Try Nero from http://www.ahead.de/ I found it to superior to Adaptec. You can check it's list of supported CDRW's (I'm sure it is) Then download a trail copy and test it out.

From Adaptec/Roxio website download and install aspi32.exe and the proper updates for your version of EZCD. The table of updates can be found here (http://www.roxio.com/en/support/winupdates.html). Or, purchase the newest version (5).

Download the updates from adaptec, addt'l you may wish to give Nero a look - it works great, is small and reletavely error free.

Roxio (Adaptec) EasyCD Creator 5 doesn't need any updates....

Nero or Easy CD Creator would be fine!
