i need to get a driver or configure this ****ty *** PC this customer brought in to recognize the CDROM (its a Matu****a CDR-575) and Windrivers has no driver for this POS. Dont blame them-i wouldnt care either simply cuz im firmly opposed to this brand of PC. First of all try and calm down a bit before you blow a fuse. You've caught me in a good mood or I wouldn't have bothered to respond to a request like this. Is this drive an IDE CD? If it is you don't need a driver for Windows, just make sure it is properly connected and jumpered as a master or slave. Some older devices (like the HD that's already installed) don't always master/slave properly. If you're having problems, try connecting the CDROM on it's own cable jumpered as master. If this particular drive has a proprietary bus and Windows isn't properly detecting the controller, then check with Panasonic's web site (Matsu****a is Panasonic) for drivers.
