Need Help!

I installed a CDRW on my computer,it works
perfectly on burning cds,be it data, or music,but when I try to play a music cd on it, it starts out ok for about 5 minutes and then it just stops,freezes, no stop ,no eject,no sound,nothing, just the LED flashing.But the computer cotinues to work ok.
So I have to shutdoun the computer and re-start to get the cd out.
Please help.

When playing any music CD will it change play tracks on its own, or does it usually hang right where it switches tracks?

If it's hanging durring track changes it probably is a defective drive.
