I have a 52x creative cdrom that is set master to an acer 8x4x32 cdrw drive. Problems are at boot up the cd drive opens and will not stay closed even after the computer is fully booted. IT does not do this all the time. Also my wife loaded a game on the cdrw drive and now you can only play the game with the cd in the rw drive. Any suggestions????
Thanks,

Sounds like you have a bad Creative CD Rom. I've had them in the past that would close faster than you could open them.
As for your wifes game. The easiest fix would be to un-install it, then re-install it from the CD drive you wish it to run from.

CAAMSA,
I have had a few problems in the past when having a CD rom drive and a CD Writer on the same IDE. Try moving your CDs about so the writer has it's own channel.
As for the game, I agree with KWB, but if you don't want to keep inserting the CD, go to http://www.gamecopyworld.com and look for a 'No CD' patch for your game.

Thanks for the info I will try your suggestions. It does not take much to screw up a system and it seems like all I have to do is look at the dang thing wrong and it goes wacky.

Yes. It definitely sounds like a faulty Creative one! If so, RMA it. You can't actually do anything to improve its condition!

Sorry but I don't know all the acronyms what is RMA it? And what kind of CDrom would you suggest that I purchase?
Thanks,
