My 50XCDROM works fine under Win98 but under
Windows 2000 Profesional it makes a lot of problems and doesn't read CD
s that are OK under win98 !!

It should work fine on W2K too!

Have you checked the Bus Master drivers and the DMA options??

50x ... is it a delta .. ive seen those not work under win2k .. its something to do with the drive and ms driver ...

It's an Actima50X .
Some CD's that are perfectly readable under W98 with the same CD drive are not readable winder W2K !

Do you mean that the drive reads some CDs and doesn't read some others? Does it actually read some CDs??

Yep. The RW CD's are almost inposible to read (under Win2K)!!

CD-RW use Packet writing or UDF file system..

the windows 2k driver is very different than the Win98 driver.. .

try to get the free udf reader from adaptec site.
