Wow.

Thats all I can say.

Wow.

How powerful.

Even though Canada is the target of a lot of jokes here in the US, you can always count on the for international emotional support for this country...

I used to live in that city as a teenager... Shania Twain's hometown, BTW.

That's some impressive - and touching - artwork

[quote]Quoted from a website:
<strong>She has warmed hearts across the continent although she's made of ice, leaning tenderly on the shoulder of an exhausted New York firefighter who is holding a U.S. flag, It's all part of an ice sculpture created to pay tribute to the courage of emergency workers in New York on Sept. 11.

Since images of Darlene Racicot's entry in the South Porcupine-Porcupine Winter Carnival ice sculpture contest were posted on the City of Timmins municipal Web site, The Daily Press has received a flood of e-mails from across the continent requesting information, including how to contact and thank Racicot for her thoughtful and moving artistry.

It's an ice sculpture of an angel comforting a firefighter holding an american flag. Both are sitting and the firefighter's head is downcast.

In the case of the firefighter, the ice has been colored to imitate the silvery-gray fire-protective pants and jackets with yellow and white bands highlightings.

It's just plain beautiful in its realistic rendering

Very touching.

Glad to see some of us have not forgotten.

That day everybody, American or not came together and knew what was truely mattered. We all just felt, together. Mourned and praised true heroism together. All BS aside. It really bothers me that the further away we get from that day, the more people seem to forget that.

I will not be one of those people.

Has anyone else seen the original picture? That same firefighter, but with a angel on either side on him. It is very touching. If could figure out how to post pics I would put it up here.
