CobraTekMax April 23rd, 2001, 11:14 AM Hardwood oak floor. I usually pass out and sleep on that. Concrete also works nicely. Nice, One word of advice, don't get a water bed. It's cool at first but then after the first time you get really trashed and try to fall asleep on it you will hate it. Trust me. I went with a firm mattress. It feels good on the back and is bounce enough to be used for other things. I think it ran me about $300 3 years ago. Kyr0n April 23rd, 2001, 12:20 PM sleep? noone has time for sleep *drinks highly caffinated softdrink* TheoneDKS April 23rd, 2001, 12:24 PM sleep? you mean that you get to sleep! F*ck I wish I could sleep. I suffer from apnia and insomnia. Of course about the time I do get to sleep, I get a call that the server is down or some other sh*t. SubZero April 23rd, 2001, 12:25 PM I bought a bed recently. It cost me $1000! for a queen. With a nice bookshelf headboard, and a no-flip mattress. I think it's a Serta, but I'll check when I get home. Sowulo April 23rd, 2001, 12:29 PM I have a really comfortable Sealy Posturpedic. At least I remember it being comfortable the last time I actually got to get some sleep. (Other than when I put the car on autopilot on the way to jobs....LOL) MacGyver April 23rd, 2001, 02:34 PM First: try before you buy, since everyone is different and has their own preferences and needs. Don't rush your purchase, and see if you can find a shop that has a 30-60 day money back guarantee if the bed you get just isn't right. Second, don't cheap out. If you buy a good quality bed it will set you back, but you will sleep much better, not have back problems, etc. Plus consider how much of your life you actually spend in a bed, and you might think twice about getting the bargain basement model. Third, think about getting a queen size bed, even if you are single. One less thing to buy when you get married. (when money is already tight) Rellik April 23rd, 2001, 06:28 PM I wish I had a waterbed. http://cwm.ragesofsanity.com/cwm/3dlil/sad.gif My mattres is too stiff for me, so I dont sleep well http://cwm.ragesofsanity.com/cwm/3dlil/sleep.gif ±Octavian April 23rd, 2001, 06:41 PM Have exams this week do0n't really know the meaning of sleep. As for beds I went to Art Vann and got a king size bed for 600 out the doorr. They orignally were asking 1200-1300 fot it. It feels like a giant pillow. I think it is a Serta. My advie is to look in the clearence center of Store and alwyas talk them down. Tehy deal the same way as does a car dealer. Later, LPetrarca April 23rd, 2001, 07:28 PM I got a motion control king size waterbed. It's da bomb! It doesn't slosh around like the old ones did. I had one of those for 20 years. Just switched to motion control after being talked into it by my wife and now I love it! :D Cable Modem Tech April 23rd, 2001, 09:28 PM what do you need sleep for man? you have a computer don't you .... just get an egro keyboard as they have the " nose relief " in the center... CMT Ghostfleet April 23rd, 2001, 11:25 PM Originally posted by Rellik: I wish I had a waterbed. NO YOU DONT Go for a Sealy Posturepedic....they are the best. A down comforter never hurt either :D http://www.sealy.com/images/header.jpg Greeniggy April 24th, 2001, 12:18 AM Hey No Fair! My matress didn't come with her! I want my money back. :) John Foster April 24th, 2001, 08:21 AM A 19" rack mount cabinet can be turned into somewhere to sleep in a jiffy! :) Renée April 24th, 2001, 11:32 AM My huz and I went from a cheap double bed to a king-size Sealy--the one with the extra padding on top, and I cannot tell you what a difference it has made! Life is beautiful, birds are always singing, butterflies land on me, I flushed my Prozac, everything tastes like chocolate, and sometimes I have to take a purposeful break from all the happiness. I swear...I never knew how important a really good bed was. I would pay whatever it takes to get a good bed, 123Kid. If you shop the brands and styles, you can decide on exactly what you want and then price it down via the web or calling around to different stores. It will be worth it! There are differing opinions about waterbeds here, and I just have to throw mine in. If you've had one before, and you truly liked it, then get another one--more power to ya. If you've never had one before, you have to sleep at least 30 nights on one to decide if you can live with it long term. I think the most fun thing about waterbeds--besides having to fill and drain them everytime you want to rearrange...and keeping fungus from growing in them...and having hell to pay if your little nephew gets happy with a sharp object--is when the power goes out in the winter while you're asleep, and the bed heater quits working, and you wake up lying on a bladder full of cold water, and your body aches for DAYS after that. Ugh. Never, ever will I own a waterbed on purpose. Lycia April 24th, 2001, 11:36 AM I just have a cheap box spring, a regualr matress and an air matress over that. TRES COMFY!!! All are queen size! http://forums.windrivers.com/cgi-bin/forum1/noncgi April 24th, 2001, 01:50 PM Avoid water & air beds. Especially if you tend to do computer work on them. I punctured a waterbed once when I accidentally dropped a jeweler's screwdriver tip down. If you do get a waterbed, get a soft-sided one. I've had both a soft-sided and a hard-sided, and the hard sided one was harder to make and was more prone to leaking. :( Whatever you get, don't go for the cheepest thing possible. It's better to spend some extra money and get a bed that is both comfortable AND sturdy. ;) 3fingersalute April 24th, 2001, 08:48 PM I'm not investing in a bed...I seen a chair this weekend that has a cooler built into the arm, is really comfortable, reclines.....perfect for me, seeing as how I usually don't make it up to my bed anyhow....I always end up drinking too much beer and passing out while cruising the forums responding to topics like this one!!! CobraTekMax April 24th, 2001, 09:04 PM Water beds RULE! I would say why, but that would be more appropriate for Cupid. ;) PuterGeekGirl April 25th, 2001, 09:08 AM Sleep?" Didn't think that was allowed in this field....Guess I'm missing out... windrivers.com
