Hey all!

I was going to install xp on a machine...I can boot off of the CD and load drivers and all that...then when it goes to the starting windows...I get a Stop error 0x0000006b, process1_initialization_failed error.

I've looked on microsoft's site...and the one link that resembles this is dead. Some sites suggested a few things, but they lead nowhere...

Sounds hardware...but this system can run Me and win98 fine. The HCL doesn't say anything negative about the hardware...but here you go:

PIII 667 on CUV4X , 256 megs o mem(tried 128 even), 4.3 gig fujitsu, 8 meg vanta video, acer 201 lan card, cd rom and burner.

I could only suspect the controller...but the drive i am using isn't even ata66...only 33...

Blah...I don't know...thx for the input

Have you disabled the BIOS virus check?
Have you set "PnP OS Installed" to NO in BIOS?
Have you disabled com 1 and 2 in BIOS?
Have you disabled the "modem use IRQ X" in BIOS?
Are you installing onto a drive hooked to a controller card or the motherboard?

I had that same error in win2K once, changing the cpu took care of it.
