I have been trying to install Win XP Pro on my neighbours machine. All appears OK except for the modem which is a MDP 3858 - 56K Internal PCI V90/K56flex based Driver It attempts to dial, but doesn't connect. I have contacted Aztech, and had an automated reply telling me that there are XP drivers update for this modem on their Web Site. I downloaded them, but they don't install. Howver on the same automated reply is the message -* Analog modem - MDP3858 do not support Win2K, WinME and upcoming
Windows XP. This is after a message saying - * MDP 3858 Analog modem has been updated with the latest driver . To
download the updated driver click

Anyone using this modem have any advice please. I accept that the easiest option might just be to get a new modem.

Thank Garak. I would agree, but this is what Aztech have on their Web SiteLatest Win XP drivers updated for ADSL and Analog Modems The only trouble is that their automated mail says that their analog modems arn't supported by ME or XP. Althoughg my neighbour is using it with ME at the moment! It's all very confusing!

When you say they don't install, does winXp tell you that the drivers are not signed and recommend not to install them? If so, install them anyway. it should work.

I had an azetech modem that when I installed the updated drivers it would not work. If it has drivers for win2k try them in xp and they should work. Just a thought.
