Dual Operating Systems

Is it possible for someone to have installed XP Pro as a new installation, and still have a previous operating system (ME) on his computer without realising it. And if so how would he go about finding out? I made sure I formatted when installing Pro, but I don't think the person I am referring to did.

see how many "windows" folders there are. You may also want to lookinto the boot.ini file to see if XP setup a dual OS.
