Anyone have this problem or have some possible solutions.
I have a client that has his own laptop and needs it hooked up to our network. I installed Novell client and he can hit the network no problem. However, the computer wont pull an IP addy. Either through DHCP or if I staticly assign the DHCP server. It wont even recognize an IP I assign it! The NIC obviously works ('cause it'll use IPX no problem). Ive rebuilt TCP\IP useing "netsh" command, per M$. Ive rebuilt the entire stack, uninstalled the NIC, etc. Still nothing.
This is a Dell Inspiron 2500 and Ive spent 2 hours on the phone with 3 diffrent techs at Dell. Between their ****ty customer service and their inept techs, all Ive learned at this point is that they dont listen to me. (Yes, Ive already rebuilt TCP\IP twice. Ok, fine, well do it agian. No, Ive already told you that the signal is fine, I couldnt get IPX if the NIC was bad; etc)
Please, Im begging you real techs, any help?
