well i can't seem to get any work done since I installed XP. I just keep playing with it and tweaking it and having too much fun.

anyways, trying to tweak with the taskbar and the program grouping capability. I dock my taskbar on the side of my screen instead of the bottom. it's about maybe 80 pixels wide, so there's plenty of room for the program boxes. so that means that I have to have a ton of programs open before xp will start grouping them for me. Anyone know if there's a way to tweak it to start grouping them sooner?

found my answer on the <a href="http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q281/6/28.ASP?LN=EN-US&SD=gn&FR=0&qry=taskbar%20grouping&rnk=1&src=DHCS_MSPSS_gn_SRCH&SPR=WINXP" target="_blank">MS support page</a>

By default, when you enable the Group similar taskbar buttons option in Taskbar properties, items are grouped only when the taskbar buttons begin to get too small, and then the item that you opened first, is grouped first.

To change this behavior, create a "TaskbarGroupSize" DWORD entry in the following registry key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Explorer\Advanced
The values for this key are:
0 - (Default) Group by age (oldest group first)
1 - Group by size (largest group first)
2 - Group any group of size 2 or more
3 - Group any group of size 3 or more
Log off and then back on for this change to take effect.
