I am having problems with some of my games. Quake (original) and Star Wars Racers. Niether game will start up, well I should say, they kick back to the desktop when trying to start. Does anyone know if you have to set every icon (advaced properties)to run at a lower screen resolution or color depth if the games max settings are lower than that of your default desktop settings?

You need to set them up to run in separate memory space. I have no problems with Quake. You might want to check all your patches also. Run HFNETCHK to check you patch level.

also try running them in 98 compatibility mode, just right-click on the shortcut and click on properties. You should see the compatibility tab there. No guarantees that it ill work, but it's there might as well give it a shot.

Also, get the latest drivers from ATI. They include support for OpenGL.
