Has anyone used this with success yet? I've got XP Pro at work and at home, and I'd like to use this feature. The setup was a little less automated and dummy-proof as I was expecting, as you have to install IIS to get it to work over the web. But I followed all the instructions, and I am still unable to connect.
Basically, I setup my home machine as a web server. so I go to <a href="http://<ipaddress>/tsweb/" target="_blank">http://<ipaddress>/tsweb/</a> and the Remote Desktop Web Connection page comes up, and asks for my server. so I type my computer name in (timkowal), and it comes back with the error "The specified remote computer could not be found. Verify that you have typed the corect name or IP address," blah blah. Same thing happens when I try the ip address.
So if anyone has tamed this beast yet, then let me know. Thanks.

As far as I know the tsweb is referring to the Terminal Services Web Client which is used to remote control computers running terminal services enabled such as 2000 Server and have port 339 open. The web client you setup under IIS lets you access the TS Client from anywhere in the world with active-x controls rather than carrying the software around on a floppy with you. You will have to type in the DNS name or IP to use that client to connect to a computer running Terminal Services. I am running XP Pro at home and have not yet configured the Remote Desktop sharing, but I don't believe you are on the right track. I remember seeing that the remote desktop sharing is done through MSN messenger and you need to sign up for a .NET account to do so. Hope this helps!!!

this feature works great....the file transfer part of it is really slow though...i used it between two users using a cable modem...and all movement was fluid...as if i was sitting right in front of the screen....i am used to using this because we use ZENworks at my busniss, and that is not as good as remote desktop

I think that that is for the Remote assistance not the Remote Desktop. Remote assistance is the program that ships with XP home. XP pro ships with both Remote assistance and remote desktop. The desktop version is more power user/business traveler oriented were as the assistance version is more end user asking computer geek friend (us ;) ) for help. The assitance version is really easy to setup but if you both don't have broadband than it's really flaky.
