1st attempt: Open it and do a 'save as...'
2nd attempt: Open it and do a 'cut & paste' to a new document.

GPFs are 16-bit errors unlike IPFs which are 32-bit errors.

In the case of your document it has become corrupted in the area of the file that stores information related to 16-bit information. 99.9% of the time this is simply a crapped up printer driver (normally 16-bit eg. HP, Epson, Canon).

Try the following the possible fixes listed in Q87856 of the Microsoft knowledge base at

http://support.microsoft.com/s upport/kb/articles/Q87/8/56.ASP?LN=EN-US&SD=gn&FR=0&qry=damaged%20document&rnk=10&src=DHCS_MSPSS_gn_SRCH&SPR=WRD97 (http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q87/8/56.ASP?LN=EN-US&SD=gn&FR=0&qry=damaged%20document&rnk=10&src=DHCS_MSPSS_gn_SRCH&SPR=WRD97)

I hope this helps! ;)
