Here's the issue.
User is using Outlook 98, she prints a email, the email removes random characters and symbols of the email. Also, it only happens with the HP Laserjet 4si, anyother printer is fine with the email.

Environment:
Outlook 98 - using Outlook and email editor
Printer - HP Laserjet 4si (Network)
OS - Win95

What I have done already:
reinstalled the printer drivers, tried different printers, tried different system.

I'm thinking it related to the printer drivers, but I'm not sure if anybody has heard of this before. Can't find a single related problem. It happens on just a few emails, outside and inside emails, and the letters missing are not in any pattern. Just looking for some friendly input that I haven't thought of looking at.

Thanks in advance.

Is your toner new? sometimes that will happen when the toner is almost empty.

If you think it is a driver problem, check HP's website below for drivers for your LaserJet:

http://www.hp.com/cposupport/swindexes/lj4si_swen.html

Also, as suggested above, it might be your toner cartridge going out. Try printing a Self Test: With the printer offline, press the "Menu" key repeatedly until "Test Menu" is displayed. Press the "Item" key once to display "Self Test." Press the "Enter" key. The message "05 Self Test" is displayed. During the print test portion, the message "06 Printing Test" is displayed. Look for any missing columns of characters going down the page. Try rubbing the printout...does it stay put or does it rub off? If it rubs off, then the fuser is not fusing the toner to the paper.

As a general rule of thumb, 90% of all printout problems with LaserJets can be traced to the toner cartridge. That is because it also contains the print drum all in one part. Also, HP strongly recommends against using recycled toner cartridges. If you have another cartridge handy, you might try swapping it out.

Let us know how it goes...Good Luck!
