I have an NT Server installation with Outlook 2000 on it. This machine had 5 users connected to it who claim they stored their Contact and Calenders on it.

The only information I can find is 2 users with outlook.pst and several back-ups but none contain any Contact and Calender information (only inbox, outbox and trash etc.)

Can or would these items be stored under any other file extension?

Thanks for your help.

Try checking their HD's for *.pst and see if they were mistaken.

Try searching for *.pab - Personal Address Book.

By default Office 2k does away with PAB's if you have a previous version of Office installed when you run the upgrade/update.

PST, PAB, and OST's may be present on the HDD with various names. Usually the calender and contacts are held on the Xchange server unless the user moves them to their Personal Folder, in which case it will be on either HDD or user's network drive space (home drive) as a PST file.

Office 2000 files for Outlook are saved in C:\Windows\Application Data..........and C:\Windows\Local settings [For win9x]

C:\Windows or WINNT\Profiles\User\App Data & Local settings [For WinNT]

Also, you might want to check the mail delivery location.

If Personal Folders is the delivery location, then the .PST (Personal Folder) folder resides locally. If Mailbox is set as the delivery location, the mail resides on the server until "managed" by the user.
