Hiya,
Didnt have much luck in getting my digital camera to work, so i have moved on to my next problem, which i dont know if this is related to my digital camera problem or not... here it is.
I have a Dazzle DVC-80 Video capture device, attached via USB. Again, this used to work fine under WinME, but now i have WinXP it does not want to work. The driver that is supplied with WinXP just locks up the capturing program, but when i try to install the winXP patch from Dazzle's own website, it ends with an "Installation Failed" message. If i try to manually put the drivers in for it it tells me that the "Class Installer" will not authorise this upgrade/install.
Anybody have any ideas? It seems i have wasted a week on trying to get these last little bits working with XP and it's tyring me out. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
btw. I have a 1.4ghz Athlon on an A-Bit KT7A-RAID M/Board, 256mb ram. I am using Highpoint HPT370 as well, if that helps.
Thanks in advance
Goody :)

I'm running a Dazzle DVC-80 on Windows XP Home edition and it works great. Here's what you do:
1) Download the drivers from the Dazzle website, or just click here. (This will let you download the zip file immediately.)
2) Unzip the files into their very own folder.
3) Go into you system properties and remove anything that seems to not be installed properly.
4) Reboot. When prompted, direct Windows to locate the drivers from the new folder you just unzipped the files into.
5) It should work fine after that.
Let me know how it goes.

One more thing,... The Dazzle device will be located in 2 places in your system properties...

Hiya,
Thanks for your responses guys, but i am still having the same problem. I am un-installing the drivers, then re-booting and then telling Windows to look at the new drivers... Have tried the ones you supplied also Webhead.
If i manually put the drivers in this way i get the same error mesaage every time, and it always seems to be when its loading the video capture driver. The Audio one seems to load in fine. Here is a capture of the error message i get:-

If i use the installer that is supplied on the Dazzle website, it goes so far through the installation then exclaims at me, "Installation Failed". Again, this seems to be when it is installing the video driver, and not the sound.
I hope you know whats happening here, I certainly dont... The strange thing to me was that everything was working fine in WinME.
Thanks for your help guys, it is really appreciated.

Darn, I wish I had some other advise to offer. Yesterday I went to the local computer store to look around, and I noticed that many of these particular Dazzle units had been returned. Probably other people had the same problem. I wish I knew of an IRQ to manually assign it to or something, but since it's USB, that shouldn't be a factor. A couple of questions I would like to ask though,... Is the Dazzle unit plugged in at the time of installation? Are all your Windows updates installed? Do you have any other USB devices installed? If so, how many? And if not, then maybe you could check your BIOS settings to make sure that USB is enabled. Even though the installation seems to fail, have you checked your system properties to see if the device is there anyway? Did you try all the available USB ports to see if possibly the one you're using is bad?

Wahoo!
I finally got it to work, in a round-about kind of way. I had a Belkin PCI-USB card stashed away somewhere, so i dug it out and installed it and the DVC-80 seemed to work straight away, So i guess that means that there must be a problem with the USB Root Hub or something similar on the PC? Anyways, i have one less PCI slot now and 6 USB ports. The other thing i havent worked out yet is that the Audio Capture isnt working, i have the sound currently going through the SB Live card, but hey, i am just over-joyed at being able to capture my videos again.
Thanks for your help guys. BTW WebHead, i have a Scanner attached to a USB port with no probs, also have the DSL modem connected, again with no probs., The only other thing i cant get to work now is the Fuji Finepix2400, and thats on the USB Port too. I have installed all Windows updates, and also most of the drivers are up to date too, And an Up to date Bios. The device isnt plugged in when i am installing the drivers. I still think there is a problem, but maybe with the USB and not the Dazzle?
Speak to you all later!

Cool, glad to hear you got it working. The audio will work, but it's kinda querky. I had some problems getting the audio to work at first also, but then one day it just started working, and I'm not sure what I did.
