I've been looking around, and I was wondering if there was any way to get VB to run (and dial) a dial-up connection.

If it makes any difference, the reason for it is that my current ISP (as with most ISP's in the UK), has a two-hour cut-off time. An application that sits in the background and pops up about 10 minutes from when it's due to cut off would be useful. Of course, if there's already an application that does this, that'd be just as good.

Cheers,
Lee

If you look around, there are several types of programs out there that will ping servers in order to keep your dial-up connection active. Here's just a few I found in a quick search:

Unfortunatly, the problem isn't with keeping the connection active. There's a 2 hour cut-off no matter what you're doing with it - even if you're in the middle of downloading something... a nice 10 minute warned would solve a lot of problems.

Try searching for a shareware/freeware timer program. You could set the timer for 1:50, then it would expire when you have 10 minutes left.
