Does anyone know of a good site the deals with game design? I'm working on a project with a friend and could use some guidance on making this. I know of a few sites (ok, about a hundred :rolleyes: ) but would like to see if anyone else knows of some good ones.

Tons is an understatement :)
Lets try to sum up how we are planning this right now...Online, Massive Multiplayer, Turn-based--RPG.
We are still trying to figure out what kind of interface to use (looking at text based for the early stages and maybe move more graphical later) Kind of like Earth 2025 (http://games.swirve.com/earth/) but more on an individual basis.
So this is going to be interesting to put together, that's why my question was so general.
Mostly looking for an idea of how to do this easily. We're trying to make it web based but the plans look like it will be client/server based...
Web base -> Easy to maintain and upgrade
Client base -> More flexable
BTW a sci-fi theme :D

Not sure if this will help or not, but I've played on www.pimpwar.com (http://www.pimpwar.com) and they have a text based, turn based game. It is written in Perl it looks like and is run through CGI scripts. The bad part is they are not accepting any new players yet, but I think they reset the game the begining of every month or so. You have to be quick last time they had over 10,000 players registered within 24 hours.

Pimpwar is a good place to start, although, based on the characters they filter in the Profile, I would guess it's done in PHP. What city are you in, Danrak?

If you are talking about which city in pimpwars I usualy stick with NYC.
Back in I think version 3 they had .cgi in their file names thats why I thought they where using cgi, but you could be right. I'm just starting to pick up perl.

The best site that I have ever seen was Wild Tangent (http://wildtangent.com) they have pretty good docs and the program itself is amazing, and free!
