What programs allow me to run a port scanner and a vulnerability scanner on my home network. I want to start doing preliminary security checks of my home systems. Also what other means of checking my systems for security holes are out there. Thanks.

<a href="http://grc.com/" target="_blank">Gibson Research Corporation</a> for all-purpose testing, and <a href="http://www.neworder.box.sk/" target="_blank">New Order</a> if you are looking for specific tools.
GRC was down at time of post.

The topic I just posted contains a link that has many links to the exact kinds of utilities you are looking for. From what I saw, it had port scanners, vulnerability scanners, password crackers, and so on. For each one of those they listed multiple programs to choose from.
