I am trying to solve a mystery with the above game that used to run great. But now, after I installed MS Office XP, a brand new monitor & video card, it still does the same thing. When you put in the CD, Eidos says not to use the 'splash' screen to play, and to go through the start menu. Even then, you cannot access the settings (to reset the resolution) which starts at 200 x 400 or something close = terrible.

Do you know if there could be a conflict between MS Office XP and this Core Design/Eidos game?

If so, where would I get a patch or something?

Any help would be appreciated.

Wrong forum, I believe but I'll try to help you out here until it gets moved. You say that you recently installed a new videocard. Did you have the game installed prior to installing the new card? If the answer is yes, then you should either uninstall/reinstall the game or look for a configuration exe file. It sound to me like your game still thinks that it is running your old card. ;)

Once I find the config exe file, then what? And which other forum would have been better? I still don't know exactly what is wrong. That's why I came here. I was trying to 'go to the next logical step in this troubleshooting sequence'. I apologize if I am floundering - I'm lost. The guy that built my computer says maybe I need to reinstall or reboot my computer.

Gaming forum would have been better, but thats OK. We'll get it fixed for you. I still need to know if you had the game installed before you put your new video card in. If you did, uninstall the game and then reinstall it. It should fix your problems.
