DvD Error I can't Fix/Understand!

Ok heres the situation.....

I'm "trying" to fix a friend's dvd but seeing as I don't own one myself its not going very well.....

theres are the errors I get when I try to play a DVD (using the program supplied by ATI)

Are you using the XP native drivers for the ATI video card or the new ones from ATI?

What sound card is in the machine and which drivers are installed for the sound?

Are there any problems showing up in device manager for either the dvdrom or the sound card?

Using the drivers supplied from ATI but I don't believe they are the NEWEST ones because I installed them from the CD they got when they bought it....

at the current time I don't know what type of sound card she has but I know it works fine..... I'm going to her house again today to try something with the DMA settings....

any info I should grab when I'm there?

Yes, what is the DVD rom make and model, are there any problems showing up in device manager?

Has the windows updates all been installed? Has the ati dvd software installed correctly?

Have you checked for patches for the ATI player?


Yes get the newest xp drivers for that card... Is it a powered by or a made by ATI?

don't you mean "dudette" ;)

But yeah I think Noo has covered everything, A newer version of the ATI DVD playback software is out also,

if its not the right stuff, search around the site, im sure you will find it there...
