ok so there have been two firmware updates on this drive , prob is i can,t impliment them .
at present wso3 ,,,,now have tried wso4 and ws05 with the following results.
after running the prog in a windows enviroment (as per prog) ,,,no dos ver available , after 20 mins ,,,,yes 20mins it runs the prog then checks file against bios (or dramm as it calls it) and says incorect ver/size.
am running 2k , with the latest drivers that "make" the drives as scsi (via busmaster ultra ata controller) ,,,,
now i know the basic t,shooting would be to set as master on sec , and go for it BUT
A: is the file(s) faulty (firmware) ,,,or
b: is it the os/drivers that are causing the probs???
have tried in s/mode etc ,,,,,
during the "flash" the ide light (red) frlashes but not the cd-r .
any thoughts chaps ?? ,,,or do i have to buy a new hard drive and a win 98 disk/licence in order to perform this operation ???? (jokin)
