Well, interview 1:
Gets in the office, everything is going great, Interviewer gets a phone call and then looks at me, smiles a little, you know those really fake smiles? and said "I'm sorry the position has been filled"
So, I calmly got up, said thank you for your time, got outside and blitzed :(:flame:
Interview 2:
Spent a whole afternoon fixing pc's burning discs, and was asked to come back on Friday, so that one looks promising :D
YAY!!!   :D
Goo Goo Garak..

So that 2nd place sounds promising. Good luck with that. ;)
BTW, it was a good idea to keep your cool for the 1st interview also, as you never know what the future may hold.
Ah, the old "Call me in 10 minutes, Miss Jones, so I can get rid of this guy" trick. :(

No news yet?
If you haven't already done so, I'd suggest giving them a phone call to follow up.
If they're interested, this will show them that you ...
Care about the position.
Like to complete what you start.
If not, then you can get yourself a Guiness and start looking again. ;)
I know how you feel - I'm going through this myself.

that sucks dude ('s)..
About the only advice I can give is that you are better than you think you are.
I found that I tend to usderstate how good I am at what I do.. Thats like a nail in the coffin when your in an interview..
And even if you aren't that good.. it raises the bar for you so that your job is a challenge and you can force self improvment apon yourself.
:D good luck guys.. :D

Quick! Send a 'thank you for the interview/your time' note! Include something about the shop, ie. I liked.......
My husband's included a thank you for 'the very informative plant tour' and 'I look forward to hearing from you soon'.
Sooo many people forget this little thank you. It shows them that you appreciate the time they took out of their busy schedule ;) to talk with you. It also reminds them that they DID in fact interview you.
Best of luck!

Hang in there man, sorry you didn't get the job. Don’t know if it is worth pursuing, but a former employer can not give you a bad reference, unless they want to open the door for a slander suit.
You may want to talk to the folks at the unemployment office if you think that is the case.

If its a cdrw and its formatted for packet writing - you can drag and drop on to it...

oh i know, i was being sarcastic as one of the things i did was install a burner, and test it - copying a cd from another cd on the fly without burning software is impossible as far as im aware, yet the customer complained saying there was no burning software on it!!!

Hi Garak,
I know how you feel. Sorry to hear that not only are you not getting the work, it sounds like you are being messed around too. It never rains but it pours.
I have been trying to find something in Zurich, Switzerland for the last 6 months, my girlfriend lives there since April 2001, I still live in Paris. 650 kms distance and we see eachother about once a month for maybe 3 to 4 days.
There seem to be fewer and fewer jobs, the situation out there is not so good after Swiss Air going bust last year. It had a big knock on effect.
I just keep applying and one of these days something will come up that is for me, I'm sure the same will happen for you.
Courage my man,
emr

Garak,
Up until recently, I was in the same boat as you. I had been unemployed since January and from that time to now, interviews were few and far between. Some I didn't like, others seemed flaky and others didn't even give me the chance. That was until a job I had been hoping for since April got back to me in August and all things worked out fine and I started on the 26th.
So don't give up hope!!!
:D

Well, I have another interview on Wednesday afternoon, 1pm :) Not what i want to be doing, but it's "graphical design" but after ringing up, it sounds like alot more, but hey its a job, £4.10 an hour 30hours + a week, can't be all bad, hopefully I can make ends meet on that..
Anyhow, I think I'm going to update my webpage somewhat,
G.
