Hello people,
I have XP Pro installed on a partitioned disk with 2k server.
2k is installed on ntfs and XP on fat32, fat 32 was not supposed to access ntfs, that is before XP.
Could some1 please tell me how to disable XP browsing ntfs. Both OS are installed on the samw HD. I have disabled sharing on 2k.
Thanks.

You can't prevent XP from mounting a partition on the same drive without hiding it with something like partition magic.

FAT32 and NTFS are two different File Systems, not Operating Systems.

Windows XP is built on the Windows 2000 codebase, so it does have an NTFS driver that allows it to access both Fat32 and NTFS file systems.

If you do not want Windows XP to bew able to access the NTFS partition, you will need to deny access to the disk for your user. Or if you would prefer, you could just hide the disk with TweakUI (http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp).
