Poseidon August 9th, 2002, 02:18 PM In a word? Secuirty and Networking. Well, okay that is two words. Try here: TechTV: Windows XP Home or Pro (http://www.techtv.com/screensavers/windowstips/story/0,24330,3354933,00.html) Here's another good article by Paul Thurrott: Windows XP Home Editon vs Professional Edition: What's the difference? (http://www.winsupersite.com/showcase/windowsxp_home_pro.asp) Akuma August 9th, 2002, 02:34 PM Here (http://www.arstechnica.com/tweak/win2k/xp-versions-1.html) is another article comparting the two and Windows .NET Server. Personally, I would go with XP Pro. But that is just me! :D Stalemate August 9th, 2002, 02:41 PM Apart from lower purchase price, there is not great incentive to get the Home version, which appears to be mostly a handicapped or stripped Pro version, IMO. Chrej August 9th, 2002, 02:52 PM Thanks for clearing that up for me guys!!:bor: Chrej August 9th, 2002, 02:55 PM ...Sorry!! I keep inserting the wrong smilers! That is true, Home IS a stripped down version of Pro. Three big differences: Home cannot join a domain (If you don't know what that is, then don't worry about it.) Home only supports one processor. Home does NOT have remote desktop. Also you cannot specify specific NTFS permissions in the Home version. windrivers.com
