I have two PCs that are both running Windows XP Professional. They are networked together an have both TCP/IP and Netbeui installed. While MS has not included Netbeui by default, it is provided on the installation CD as an extra install step, and I have a product that still requires it.
PC#1 has a shared folder containing a variety of document types, and has simple sharing implemented with full update authority for all users and all systems. Both PCs have Office 2000 installed and are able to share documents without problems, with the exception of MS Publisher.
If I open a Publisher document on PC#1, close it without changes, and then attempt to open it from PC#2, I get an error message telling me that the document is still open on PC#1. I can reboot PC#1, and the problem still persists. In fact, it never goes away.
Has anyone seen this problem or something like it?
