I have to respectfully disagree with the usefulness of this information. One individual's experience is not going to be indicative of everyone's internet connection configuration. I recommend the free tools at www.broadbandreports.com/tools instead which will calculate the best settings (especially RWIN) based on your connection type, speed, and amount of packet loss (if any).

ya I know, you have a point Mac,but we both know about dslreports and speedguide and Dr tcp and there are many many of these around, this is just another of many that I have tried and wanted to share, and it seems to work pretty good for my two w2k boxes.

and for many users that are not at our level this is very user friendly and it's a good tweak for a un-tweaked system.

it's only an alternative. :)

After playing around with various tweak settings from numerous sites the only setting that seems to have any effect for my WinXP with cable modem has been to increase my rwin size to 64240. I use the dslreports tool to do this as I find it the easiest. My 2 cents.
