This thing is pretty cool! I've played Tony Hawk 3 and Halo so far. Is it just me? Or are the controls for Halo kinda difficult to use? Maybe I just need to get used to this whole XBox controller thing.

Well since the thing is the size of a boat, it would be hard to get used to

I think I kinda like XBox. I just wish the controller was a little smaller.

It's a shame you didn't get xbox version 2.0 The controllers are finally the proper size. I'm not sure if they are backwards compatable, but I would assume so.

You can customize the controls for Halo in the player profiles.

congrats on buying the xbox, i have had mine since 2 days after it was released..and i love it to death.

why does everyone think the controllers are too big? this is the first console that made controllers for large american sized hands instead of smaller japaneese hands. the original xbox controllers are much better than the redesigned Controller S.(in my opinion) the controls in Halo take a little while to get used to, but they actually work quite nice once you catch on. It is no keyboard and mouse, but i think it is the next best thing.

If you liked Halo, try TImesplitters 2, it is a very good first person shooter.

Have you played online yet with xbconnect? if not, you don't know what you are missing. Any of the xbox games that support the system link (LAN play) option can be played online using a tunneling program called xbconnect (www.xbconnect.com) it actually works rather well. The network code in Halo isn't very efficient, so with large numbers of people, it can get laggy, but some of the newer games have addressed this issue. (i played timesplitters 2 online the other day with 6 other people and there was no lag whatsoever). and in like 15 days, XBOX live comes out so you can play true intetnet games like Unreal Championship(very similar to Unreal Tournament 3002, only designed from teh beginning ot be played on xbox instead of being ported to the xbox.)

How very true. And yeah, I can see what you're saying about getting used to the controls. It takes time, but it does happen. However, I only rented that game so it's not long gone. I might buy it eventually though. And thanks for the tips on which good games to get. I'll try renting those.

Right now I'm currently playing Obi-Wan. It got bad reviews, but I love it. Just straight forward light saber action. Again, the controls are hard to use at first, but you do get used to it. I really love the mouse keyboard,.. but hey, what can ya do? It's a console system afterall. Anyway, this game rocks big time, and I would recommend it to any Star Wars fan.

November figures to be a great month for XBOX owners.

Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance in just a mere 4 days.
MechAssault the following week
And Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell - which is reported to be a Metal Gear killer - the week after that.

Schweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!

Halo definitely rocks. I have a friend who works for GameStop and owns two XBoxes (party time). I'm still a PS2 fan for now, but I give the XBox its props.

Gotta admit I like the PS2 controller better, even after many hours pounded out on the XBox, but I definitely see how some people might like the XBox contoller better.

As far as Metal Gear goes, XBoxers have it made. The PS2 version had great gameplay, but there were so many damn cut scenes you never got a chance to really play it.

I think Halo is the bees knees. Played it until I'd completed it I still had caffiene shakes for a week once it was done.

It took me a little while to get used to the controls - or perhaps more the dizzying effect for the first day or so. I did feel a little motion sick. All of a sudden I was into it and couldn't put it away.

It's a great game to play co-operatively. Just love it.

Well, the cleetus now has an xbox, and has will be getting Halo, if he can find it for cheap enough. Until then, he has 007 Night something, pretty cool but only got to play for 30 or so minutes so far.
