It has finally been released, the file size is 96 Megs. I was able to download it fastest from http://www.fileshack.com/file.x?fid=1320
The demo allows you to run a two lap race on the Calypso track with either the Porsche 911 or Ferrari Convertible. Unlike the original which did not have cops in multi-car races, the race involves six cars and the cops are in full pursuit of everyone. I ran it on a P4-1.6A with a GF2Ti and while it ran well, when there were a lot of cars on screen it got a bit choppy. But that's due to the fact that the cars are modelled beautifully. It's hard to tell the difference between the model and the real thing.

I rented this for consol, and let me say, this game is definatly one of the best racing games on the market today. The cars are absolutely beautiful, the scenery is amazing, and the ai is fantastic. The cops definatly work hard to get you to spin out, though spike strips and choppers can be too easy to avoid on some levels. And of course, be the cop mode has been completely revamped, and is definatly a lot of fun. Very, very good game.

I have been playing the game for PC for two days no, and let me say that if I was driving a sports car like these and a crown victoria cop car was able to stay at the speed as me, then I would drive my car off a cliff :). The cops only seem to be after you, even if someone is right infront of you going faster, the cop starts after you, or, if he cant even see you he will report he is chasing you, then you come over the hill and he no longer needs his x-ray googles. I am not a pro but good at Porsche Unleashed, and I have not yet been able to place higher than 6 in any race, and thats about 30-40 races so far. I definately would not recommened this game to anyone. Those are my words of wisdom, so take them wisel. Save yourself the money and just play the demo, its better than the actualy game.
Thanks EA :flame:

I noticed that too, actually I like NFS3 (the original hot pursuit) a whole lot better than this one. In NFS3, the cops would chase and arrest computer cars, and if you were the only one left on the track, they would send like 6 cops after you! There are about 10,000 cars that you can download for it that people have made, you can race at night or in weather or both. And the cops would not chase you if you weren't speeding, in this game they are out to get you even if you are going below the limit and will arrest you first time they catch you. How realistic is that?
A lot of people are disappointed in this game, I am too especially when I compare it to the original. This was the first NFS that was not done by the original Test Drive/DSI/NFS/EA team that made so many other great driving games that all others are compared to. Maybe they should have played those games before making this one.
The only big thing NFSHP2 has going for it is the online multiplayer via Gamespy. IMHO.

I got it for xbox last week and I absolutely love it. It's just plain awesome, definately one of the best in the NFS series.

I finally got this game after wanting it for soooooooo long. Beautiful!!!! AI on the cops are pretty good but nothing beats the original NFS3HP. That game ran awesome on a PII400 on a VooDoo 12 megger with no lag. That was just good programming right there. At this point I'm addicted to NFSHP2. It's only been 2 days and i've already made 40000 points. That's with limited gameplay. I love how they added the Hellicopter it's just plain fun. I didn't want to start a new thread because Mac already made one a few months ago.
In regards to the person questioning the realism of the game. Please keep in mind the title of the Game. It is what it is. Also keep in mind that if you're speeding over 100 in my state it considered wreckless endangerment of the public which is a fellony offense and you will be brought into to jail. Believe me I know.

I've been playing both demos (US and australia) and it is definately a great game. That's wierd that you're having problems since I seem to be getting better with this. My first 8 races or so I couldn't do much but I checked out the Australian demo with slower cars and got used to the stearing and I seem to be doing much better now. I, too, can't stand the cops with the "X-RAY Vision" being able to see you and radio it in before you get over the hill.

I have both the PC and the Xbox versions and much prefer the Xbox. With the hi-def kit the grafics are absolutely amazing and the split screen makes multi player games a blast. Wish it could do 4 users though.

Ive heard that too... I still wonder why they didnt use the XBox graphics for the PC instead of the PS2..
The Demo is a lot of fun.. maybe I will break down and get the retail version this weekend..
