dead maxtor 10gb

my client hd 10gb maxtor is dead.
when i turn it on it clicks.
i opend it and saw some scratches an its surface.
how much you think will a company take to revive the data ?
one of the company i know say that exam of the drive costs 125$ and because it was opend by me, it is more damaged and exam will cost 250$.
it seems quite expensive.
how much money other companies takes ?

That's cheap!! Usually minimum is $500 to $3000 or more.
