Well, I was about as impressed as a person could possibly be with the way my Steelers were able to move the ball and put up passing touchdowns this week. Maddux had 4 TD passes after 3 quarters of playing, 3 of them were spectacular throws and catches. It was almost like I was watching the Rams of two years ago playing in my favorite Steelers clothing. Then the coaching went to sh*t...on both sides of the ball they went to ultra-conservative playcalling and allowed Atlanta to sneak back into the game and sneak out a tie.

The coaching staff needs to step forward and accept full complete responsibility for this loss (tie). It's obvious that the players are pissed about the playcalling in the 4th quarter as am I, rather than playing this type of 'oh I hope we don't lose' football, it'd be nice to see some killer instinct and see them play to win. They might as well put Kordell back in if this is the way they are going to coach the game.

Startin to lose faith in Cowher....

Coach Cowhead SUCKS!! I was super pissed yesterday as I listened to Myron Cope & the gang over the net. Cowher's an idiot. Okay, you've got a 17 point lead, wait make that a 10 point lead because Randle El just fumbled a punt return deep in your territory & Atlanta just got a TD out of it. Okay, let's grind out the clock with a full quarter to play.

God damn I'm still furious about this the morning after. Cowher's a dumbass. He was playing for the tie & nothing more. As if the playcalling wasn't bad enough in the 1st quarter, he got all conservative on the second drive of OT. Then he didn't call timeout in OT when Atlanta was going for the 56 yard field goal. Props to Maddox & Plax for almost making the 50 yard TD hail mary pass with 1 second on the clock.

I hope Cowher's gone after this season. He's finally got an offense that can move the ball & score points by passing, and he squanders it & shuts it down in the second half. That might work against teams like the Bengals, the Browns & the Ravens, but it won't fly against playoff teams & Atlanta showed it.

Anyway, Dan Rooney is now the head of that new committee that is to make sure that black coaches get an equal opportunity at head coaching jobs. And Dennis Green has said he'd like to get back into coaching next season. Hmmmm...

Or maybe we could lure Marvin Lewis away from the Skins for a head coaching job. Him having control over this defense would be scary.

Flat out, I can't think of one team in history that has more talent then the Steelers currently have on both sides of the ball. They have 3 very good receivers, 2.5 very good running backs, a very good quarterback, 2 above average tight ends...

The coaching is very suspect...I've never been a fan of laying back on a big lead, or a small lead for that matter, but what happened yesterday is unacceptable. If the Steelers don't win the Super Bowl this year, Cowher should be gone. He is the reason they stuck with Kordell so long, and it's more obvious now than ever that Kordell has been holding this team back.

28/41 473 yards with 4 TD passes and 1 INT

That's the line from a QB that has been out of the NFL for 10 years and we got a tie out of it???? The heat is going to be on in Pittsburgh this week.

I say Cowher & his boy Kordell end up together in Cinci next season myself.

I just hope the players don't give up on this season. But it sounded like quite a few of them are really pissed at Cowher at this point.

That'd be awesome to see the two of them in Cincy. I'd rather Cowher pulled his head out of his a$$ and stayed in Pitt, tho. There's just no place in sports for being conservative. I can't count how many times I've watched the 'prevent' defense put into effect, only to watch an offense that couldn't move the ball all game go straight down the field and score. Whoever came up with that defense should be shot. They plan their gameplan all friggin weak, execute it effectively for 3 quarters of the game and all of a sudden go into a preventative shell. The Steeler's deserved to lose that game, they should be very happy that they got a tie out of it.

You're right about the players, Cowher is on the verge of losing their faith. That's why I think he needs to come out and blame coaching for the tie, that's the only way to get them back. That and never again doing what they did on Sunday. It was obvious in all their faces that they think it was a very poorly coached 4th quarter.

Cowher accept blame? Never.

In the post-gazette today, he's put the blame for the loss squarely on Randle El for fumbling that 4th quarter punt return.

Yeah...and they still had a 10 point lead with a decent amount of time left. But still you call run, run, short pass, punt. Great play calling Bill!
