Alright, Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force is a bit slow and jumpy on my system. I heard their are ways to make it work faster which are "undocumented" (atleast that's what Activision told me).

What are the ways to make it work better (other than upgrading my computer)?

Just as a comparison to your system, I was running this on a

P3-1ghz, 128Ram, 40 Gig HD.

And it was real jumpy for me. So You only having the CyrixII 333mhz with the same problem, atleast you know it's not your processor alone.

Yes, I know it's not my system, since StarFleet Command II runs real smooth on my system, and it needs more processor than Elite Force, and it has the same 3D requirements. And I know it's not space, since my computer almost never touches the hard drive while playing the game.

I have it set all the textures so it goes the fastest, but it acts the same as on normal.

Dude, pop for a GeForce 3 Ti 500. They are down to under $100 and with the GeForce FX (*drooool*) I bet the price would drop even more.

Savage4 is one of those chips that didnt catch on. Get a GeForce 3.... strong video drivers man. You could even pop for a GeForce 4 Ti whatever after the GeForce FX comes out.

If this game allows configuration of video, I suggest you turn down all the extras... it will be a trade off, less jumpiness means less detail.

Dude, pop for a GeForce 3 Ti 500. They are down to under $100 and with the GeForce FX (*drooool*) I bet the price would drop even more.

Alright, I'm thinking of going for the card. But would it really boost performance on the kind of machine I have?

The main problem you are facing is how slow that CPU is. 333 Mhz doesn't seem bad at first, but Cyrix chips never have been gaming chips. Its performance would be less than the clock would lead you to beleive. Basically what I'm saying is that you don't have enough CPU to benefit from anything over a GeForce 1 DDR. Really with those specs I'd recommend you go the MX 420 or Radeon 8500/9000 route. Much more video card than you can handle for less than $70. If you want further recommendations, just ask. I can dig up a few specifics fairly quick.
