During the installation of XP Pro, I used the floppy disk route because my machine did ot boot from cd. During the floppy setup the system stopped at installing setup file "WINHELP.DLL". Said to check CD and hit enter to try again or "esc" to skip. I cleaned the cd and could not get it to read the file to install. The cd is a lightly scratched. After trying several times and no luck, I decided to press "esc" to skip. Question is: Is this just a setup file or will if effect the OS installation and operation?

Thanks.

you could try copying the cabs to the hard drive and running user.exe from there (I think it's user.exe anyhow..)

Lets know how it goes.

If the install is ok, I would then do an SFC /scannow from start, run... if the file is needed, sfc should put it back.

To install from hard drive... copy the entire i386 folder from the cd to the hard drive giving it the same folder name, then run winnt.exe
