 Ok, I am getting really ticked off. My office is the only one right beside the front door, which just happens to stick open EVERY TIME someone goes out or comes in. It's 40 degrees out, and the cold air attacks my feet - even through my boots. The only way I can keep any heat in here is to close the door, except during working hours we are supposed to keep the door open, and my crappy little space heater can't keep up with the outflow of warm air. My feet are freezing, but I can't tell anybody to do anything about it because I am the most junior man here, so every five minutes I have to get up, walk around the maze in my office, and close the door. It's bad enough I have to go out there to smoke, but I don't want to feel the cold all day...argh.

Feel your pain bro.
The next customer who walks in the shop casually propping the door back as they go, or better still, forcing it open outwards(despite it clearly saying 'push' on the sign), and complaining about it sticking, is in the walk in freezer with the dead light bulb til March
Even had one guy walk in, propping the door back as he went, then rub his hands together and say "Christ it's cold in here". If I weren't so well medicated at the minute, that would have been nasty.

I work at a retail pet shop an people open the door in the dead of winter when it's 0 degrees F and and talk to people, wait for their kids that are comming out of the car and are 150ft away or just stand there for no damn reason at all holding the door to look out of it and the door is made of glass.
Meanwhile all of the animals are freezing and so am I.
My suggestion to you is to wear your coat around the office and maybe someone will take notice. Put up a sign on the door - no they will not read it, but maybe someone will call the maintenance person. Call the maintenance person if you have one or just take ome time and fix the door. Either that or wear thick socks.

The coat is a great idea...except that I'm a Marine, and my blue and yellow jacket would be highly frowned upon with my uniform...and like I said, I am the junior man here, so I am the "maintenance person." - i.e. trash, moving heavy things, crap work.

Had a similar problem a few years ago in Jax. I was just a peion so I could never get maintenance to fix the door. I solved the problem by wiring a LAN jack next to the door an conveniently relocating one of the workgroup printers there which just so happened to prevent the door from opening all the way (it was not a fire exit so no probs with the Fire Marshall either).
Problem solved.
